The Void cards are very creative and are part of the aninect Tarok tradition. The original void card was called Amen Ra in aninect Egypt, and was invisible. The original meaning of amen is invisible or hidden. A-men literally means dear foundation , the prefix ah being a common way of expressing endearment. The glyph for men was a pictogram of the Senet Game Board that was popular in Egypt from before the first dynasty. According to tradition the pharaoh who founded the first dynasty used that glyph in his name or as an epithet meaning Foundation or Founder . The ithyphallic god Menu (or Min) also used this glyph for his name. He represented the archetype of the generative life force. Men represented the megalithic blocks for the foundations of the great temples and pyramids of Egypt. The Senet Board consisted of 30 squares, each of which represented the House or Temple of one of the gods or goddesses (nature archetypes) of Egypt. This became an aninect divination system in Egypt. The board as a whole was called men . So the god Men generated and held within him the whole pantheon of Egyptian nature (neter) deities. Amen was his hidden form in the VOID, what we would call today the Vacuum State, which we know is filled with all possibilities in a virtual condition.VOID wild cards are thus tied to an aninect tradition. A void suit (even if only for the courts) is a new creation as far as I know. Using gloss on the black cards is a neat way to get variety out of nothingness. I love the quantum butterfly that suggests the shift from virtual to actual.
